A friend and i's characters--Ythaniel(black hair) and Aiden. but yeah..:D this took forever--was listening to Blurry by Puddle of Mudd over and over again--as it was my source of inspiration. Gosh-and once more i was reminded of my inability to draw hugging. hakushin_ryouga 2009/7/1 - 12:48:45Holy cow the timer went crazy on me, it jumped from 1 hour 45 minutes to over 10 hours with one escrow O_O oh well timer issues aside, I decided to kind of go back so some more simple cel shaded work after my time with the black and white I had to use Toriyamas super saturated colors to push me back into a more cartoony style. I rather like now it turned out. Korin (the cat) grows Senzu beans(they are beans that can instantly recover a person even from the brink of death.) so it was only fitting that goku be beat up when going to see him. He kind of looks like Tsuna from KHR... Darn you spiky hair. Backgrounds + spiky hair = not my best. I think the background could've had a few chairs in it also to make it more interesting? Composition is extremely important! As for the background, I feel that it was just thrown in there like a second thought. When you draw something, think of backgrounds as environments, a place for your characters to interact on. Backgrounds will automatically better if your character(s) actually are doing something related to where they are at, trust me. However, I looove the coloring and the lineart in this drawing. The expression is fantastic, and I love the color mixtures in the shading. So, hopefully this will stay here *crosses fingers* I've saved it to board, but the file size is quite big. The timer's correct (sadly) I started to colour this lineart-less but it had a massive file size so I decied I woudln't be able to do it all like that so I changed to cell shading. This started out as a poster for an advertisment for magical broomsticks (lol) but I decided to change it. She's sitting on a swing, by the way. C&C is awesome and muchly appreciated! ^^ nicole16 2009/6/26 - 10:42:47 It looks great ^_^ But...Her right arm kind of comes down funny, and her right hand, legs, and parts of her clothes have some erasing mistakes ^^; I love how you did the shoes, but the legs seem to short and thin. And if you look in the small patch of hair behind her left shoulder,you'll see that its not colored correctly, you should have shaded it with a dark color(the color of the hair, which is green), to show the shadow of the head(If you forgot to shade it, thats fine :D). Her left hands fingers look weird, try to bend your fingers that way. Tough right? I dont think that the human hand was ment to bend like that ;) The swing looks good, but theres not really a clear seperation between the top and sides of it, it seems as if the wood was wavy. Im my opionion, you should ahve used the pen tool for the shading of the moon, and the tree seems almost black.
