Thanks SO very much, Rio! So, I chose Hear the Heathen Call on Tyr's album By the Light of the Northern Star. The song spoke about time taking all and fallen heroes, so I decided to do a memorial stone because, though those it represents are long past, the stone will last much longer. On it is my interpretation of the Norse ruin's "Hear Lies Our Fallen Heroes"

Tyr- By the Light of the Northern Star I immediately imagined some grogginess and some manly male nordic warriors of course. The pace of the song also reminded me of wind and a voyage, and the song being about sailing by the light of the Northern Star, I inserted some sea in there too :3 Hope this isn't too bad! I love metal gah <3

And then draw something inspired by that song! I'd like a brief description of how you came about what you drew, just like a sentence or two. I'd also appreciate if you used the entire canvas, but I'm not gonna require a background or anything like that. The contest will end two weeks from January 31st, so on February 13th, unless I don't get enough entries, and then I'll see about extending it. Also, for the prizes, I may not be able to do digital ones, but I can do traditional ones and either scan or mail you a copy of it.
