Not sure if this is what you were going for but it's what I gathered.

    Notes:
-Hair and clothing will get dragged along as the body moves and will -generally- be going the opposite direction.
-Action poses are easier if you start by drawing a line for the spine and a quick line or two to show direction and angle of movements. Use them as a guide and the pose will feel more fluid in the end.
-Make sure you're building up the body using 3d shapes.

i think its called a split......and i think arslans chara just kicked with his right our left leg........but who am i to say anything....

I think the scissor kick is when the legs come together and snap on the opponents head...
    Problem?

Oh I know that kick, ones of Hollywood's favorite, but it's one of the most useless. The deal is that having to opposite forces (kicks) and the issue of not using the person weight, it limits the impact of the kicks making them useless in real fights.

Well, after this technicality, good draw and instructions.

@Ged: It depends on the martial art. I'm using Taekwondo terminology.
@Clock: Yeah I would never use this kick in a real fight, but it's really fun to practice and break boards with and it tends to impress judges when thrown into a creative form ;b

Like I said I really wasn't sure what was going on and a scissor kick is what I saw first. Maybe I'll go ahead and illustrate a side kick and a back kick to show what it looks like when one foot is grounded.
