Top ways to know you are becoming an otaku

"Otaku (おたく / オタク?) is a Japanese term used to refer to people with obsessive interests, particularly anime, manga, or video games."

In this thread, it is particularly manga and anime. (As it mostly is in all other contexts)

    • You start saying "nyaa" and "desu" IRL.

    • You start to learn Japanese words because of subtitled anime.

    • You start to buy food and clothing just because it is Japanese or Japanese related.

    • You go over your bandwidth downloading anime and manga.

Share your top ways to know you are becoming an otaku.

Listen I only say nyaa because I am actually a cat, so... I don't see what you're getting at.

    1. You start wasting your money to buy all anime/manga related merchandise.
    2. You're not interested in real girls, but in anime/manga character instead.
    3. Your wall is full of anime/manga characters posters.
    4. You start dreaming that you meet, befriend, or even marry with your favorite anime/manga character.
    5. Your pillow is a 1:1 anime/manga character hug pillow. And also your bed sheet and your towel.
    6. You end up married with anime/manga character. You actually hold and invite your dudes to the ceremony, have and sign the marriage certificate, and live happily ever after with that anime/manga character (based on REAL LIFE story).

When I got my haircut the other day the stylist must have been a cat lady because whenever she said no she'd go "nyoooo."

    - You make a thread called 'Top ways to know you are becoming an otaku' where the first sentence contains Japanese characters in an attempt to call others weeaboos and thus repress the deep secret fear you have of being a weeaboo yourself...
