Your coloring makes me go insane, Mimi. Oh lawdy.
1. I use the pen tool with regular settings. The brush tool is on fine flat with low or high color blend.(This is one thing to change a lot during the process.) Opacity mix low and persistence is high. Water tool has high opacity mix and persistence. Color blend is like the brush tool, and everything else are regular settings. Air brush tool is always low opacity. Key is to switch color opacity and the tools you color with.
2. Super awesome tablet+zoom+steady hand. (I also do another layer and color the lineart.)
3. Stated in #1, but I use others too but not as much as these.
4. This is 4000x3000 with 300 Resolution.
5. Depends on mood and other things. The whole skin coloring, sketching and inking took about an hour and a half. (Inking taking the longest.)
6. Practice and understanding!
@Toast: Gimmie pretty lineart I can color for you. 8D

So you use the painting tools in SAI? I haven't even touched them... maybe I'll have to try. Thank you!
Also - an hour and a half for sketching AND inking?! That's really good.
OBJECTION!
Aiyeeee, that is a gorgeous set of colors you've got going! I lovelovelove the blending.
i've been looking at the pictures of this thread and i can't really see anything to crit and i decided a long time ago that i won't comment on threads here unless i can critique something.
then i go back to the first page of this and look at the comments and looking for critiques from someone for me to learn something but i can't see anyone crit you on any of those arts! it's all praises! nothing but PRAISES!!

Thanks everyone for the comments!
@ram: Looking at art and trying to figure out how they did it is one collected way to learn.
I really hate my scanner. The images come out too sharp and somehow ruins the blending. : | It also can never capture the colors, but that is every scanner. 8D I need to learn how to edit better though!
And during this process of finishing, my glasses broke in half due to one lens suddenly cracking. Although, I have to get new lenses anyways. Many ups and downs came along with this drawing. ;_;

I know what it feels to have a crappy scanner -.-. But now fuck everything, I have a awesome scanner who loves me =3.
It's sad that the texture of the paper is lost and so the blending of some colors, but that happens a lot when you mix traditional with digital )= (they are not good friends).
