Another reason she is looking dwarf-like still is that (and I measured) she's currently just over 6 heads tall Dx In academia they teach us that the human figure is seven heads tall. This looks very average and unremarkable. Most artists will agree that a more visually appealing figure is closer to seven and a half heads tall and this is widely accepted in art especially when you're trying to make a character that is beautiful. Fashion designers will often use a figure that is 8 heads tall because this gives them a more lean and slick look that is reminiscent of a supermodel. I also find that proportion to be wonderful when drawing elves or races that are more graceful and ethereal. Superheroes are usually drawn 9 heads tall to give them a larger than life feel. For DnD purposes this is a nice one for giants and barbarian races.

Some food for thought when drawing different races and styles. :3

Thanks you guys! I can see that left thigh is pretty short :/ I'm gonna try to make her nine heads in size--cause as you're saying Kasey, she's a barbarian kinda. I want her to be both sexy and strong (you got it Nisaren!) I haven't got all her background really hammered out yet, but she's from a warrior village. She's not supposed to be very smart (very slow, but not like, mentally disabled.)

Okay, gotta add some new changes to the list! Move rib cage a bit, lengthen legs more (especially thigh.) Back to the drawing board!

Oops! Forgot to mention that 9 heads is usually for males, but hey you may just like it for her :3 I would try a sketch at 9 heads and then one at 8 heads and see which you like better. Since she's pretty muscular you might be able to get away with either one. Good luck! Can't wait to see her again xD

you can also change some elements of the body to provoke the viewer; bigger chest, longer neck, longer legs, and so on.

I think 7 (8) heads is ok, you can change that whenever you want, but only if the style can provoke the illusion of what you are doing (example: there is a point where a chibi character look like a grown person, but if you pass it, you can end doing child pornography).

Also, lines affect the style, if you do a curve in a circular shape you are also giving weight to the draw, while when you give it more sharpness, it will lose weight. To this you also add the thin of the line and how the line behave (I care more about the lines than anything else).

Ooh, I really like that foot. I think the torso looks proportionally correct, but what's getting to me is that the breasts are very perky for being that size, so it makes thing appear off, even if they're not. I like the pose, though; it's got a lot of attitude.

@ Clock: Thanks for the tips! I really need to work on my line weight. I'm thinking of doing her either 7 1/2 or 8 heads. Whichever I can do better. When are you gonna post some more of your art? I really like your style!

@ Ceefie: Thanks! I tried to make the foot (since I didn't finish the other one...er, zoinks!) and the hands a little better. The first time her hands were...bleh. Her feet weren't so great either, and I think the sole was a little lop-sided on the bottom.

I need to work on her boobs. They need to be big, but...hmmmm...well, I'll play with them a bit (....wow, that's dirty, but I'm not gonna change it. You know what I mean.)

Another thing to remember when drawing the body and measuring through head height.

head to hips = whole foot

that means if your measuring through the head example 7 heads tall,

hips would be at the fourth head.

this still depends on the style, I haven't drawn any DnD but based on how I look into reference of it, this is what I could come up with.
Your really getting good! and I'm so glad your the type of person who draw again the exact same thing after receiving some critiques.

~*I lost my inking pens during the move...and I don't feel like using india ink, so I'll have to post the lined drawing later. I'll probably just color her from there and let you see the finished result (may be a while, but we'll see.)*~

Next up! Sai Moe contest. Last year I didn't get any critiques, but I feel I did pretty good except the coloring/special "effects" (my leaves and background sucked.) So this year, if anyone wants to help, I would be happy. I'm going to number them, to make critiquing easier. You can just say the number, if you like (or do it however you want! It's all good.)

Looking at her, I think her feet are too small, and her left hand (our right) too big. I'm not happy with the other hand either, but think I'll fix it up when I do my next draft. Should I move her left foot (our right) back even further? Or should it be bigger, higher? Hm...anything thoughts you have will be helpful!!!!! Arigatou gozaimasu!

Other part: I don't think I need much more here, but if you see something, you're welcome to point it out, cause I may be blind. Maybe the background needs to be set further back?

Finally, the "emotions." I don't have the hair done on some of them, and the upper right head...blah. I'm going to change that. I think her face is too wide, and her eye's are crazy.

^correct...though the hand sizes, the right is a bit big indeed, but the left is too small so you have to make that a bit bigger
Check anatomy of the neck-clavicle region to fix how you drew it. The clavicles end up at the tip of the shoulders just before the deltoids. The neck muscles also would have been better to define. Mainly because the amount of detail you put in the clothing greatly offsets the low amount of detail you put for the surface anatomy.
As for the faces, eye alignment needs to be fixed specially on the 3/4 views.
I suggest you try drawing surface anatomy completely before trying to simplify so that you'd have a better understanding on how to simplify them
