Shun thrusted his head through the angry ghost and it vanished.

Myfanwy was glad Ganzorig had taken care of the specter which had appeared before them in place of the other, but seeing more emerge by Shun and Meg, she hurried over to attack. Coming close to the...stranger...ghost, she threw her weight into a kick: hitting somewhere in the middle of it.

Akaiji reversed his massive, lumberingly blade skillfully in his two pointy digits, then smashed it down back onto the same malicious cloud-thing as before.

If he was afraid of the unliving thing, he certainly wasn't sending out any recognisable signals, at least.
Meg did the same thing again.

The lost spirit attempted and failed to touch Shun with its draining touch, the drunkard being simply too fast for the screaming thing. The ghost attacking Akaiji met with better success reaching into the armored crab and painfully touching his very soul.
Unsurprisingly, given her quickness, the last ghost failed to touch Meg, even given how big a target her backside was.
Akaiji takes 5 damages!

Ganzorig skipped over and finished off the ghost that Aokiji had been dealing with.

Myfanwy continued to pound on the ghost before her. She swung her right leg up, bringing it down smoothly into the phantasmagoria, then pushed an open-palmed thrust into it.

Akaiji made a noise. In pain?
None the less, he pretty much instantly veered off, and went after the ghost next to Meg. His movements, particularly that of his blade, where now so expertly quick and precise that he appeared as if he was another strange creature entirely.
"Honorable dead, please realize that not being alive is the honorable thing to do, and not be alive any longer."

Akaiji has 3 out of 4 Ki points remaining.
Jai just returned from the void, but Fail's computer also exploded, and the ghosts are kinda easy, so eh.
The rest of the ghosts were not particularly difficult to dispatch, and so the group made their way onwards, towards the inn. Along the way there were, of course, more of the poor undead things, but none of them were able or at least willing to communicate beyond violence.
Hui spent most of the trip passing around various restorative potions, starring at Meg's butt, and hitting on Ganzorig.

As they got closer to the inn, and as a result the nearby shrine, the ghost attacks became more frequent, and the ghosts themselves were more clearly monstrous and deformed, bearing almost no resemblance to whatever visages they bore in life. The coldness was heavier, and the trees and grass were all dead or dying. Hui seemed very uncomfortable.

The inn was largely empty. Its current inhabitants consisted of only the group itself, the innkeeper, a small, quiet, man, two travellers, and four quite gorgeous young women from the Golden Way Society.
The women gave Hui catty looks, no doubt unhappy at not being the most beautiful women in the room, suddenly. Still, they didn't seem to hold a grudge, as two of them immediately started figuratively throwing themselves at Shun.
"Are you spending the night, handsome?"
"We are."
"We could spend it together. As the Dreaming Dragon sings its songs to us, we would sing songs, different songs, unto you."

Megaera made her way over to the innkeeper, brushing off intense glances of adoration and desire. "Excuse me," she said, grabbing their attention. "The crew and I are staying for the night, so I was hoping to set up accommodations for us. Besides that, I have a few questions I need to run by you." She proceeded to inquire away.
"What's going on with the ghosts in this area? The closer we came to here, the uglier and meaner they got. They don't even look human anymore."
"What can you tell us about the shrine?"
