I am teaching myself how to play the drums. Mainly through Rockband. Hopefully I'll get actual lessons soon. Anybody have any pointers?

@Bacon: My first suggestion would be to get a metronome and learn to play to a click - Rock Band will give you some experience with this, actually, so that's kind of nice.

On the web, there's about a million different options - http://www.metronomeonline.com/ is the first Google hit, but there's plenty more.

As far as actually playing goes, the key is to have a good grip and relax as much as possible.
