Nah, I'm not in a prison. XD I just live in a place where alcoholism is an issue, and there are some cultural misunderstandings about "boundaries." (Alaska Natives have different social constructions about personal space, and that turned into a pretty scary situation on a trail earlier this week for me.)
Oh, and I ride public transit.
I'll look into pepper spray, but I think my past research has shown that it's illegal on my university campus, which is where I spend most of my time.
If campus security tries to take it from you just use it on them
But they're city cops. :U
