When you put it that way yeah that does make sense... do you know what this theory was named so I can go have a read? However there are differences between the viral protein shell and nulclear membrane, but then again you could argue that the protein coat is just like a membrane for the virus as it surrounds and protects it just as nuclear membrane would :O

Yeah it is pretty interesting, and if it turns out to be true that would completely change everything, especially evolutionary theories on molecular levels

Learning about evolution and the tree of life etc was interesting, yes, but once you go down to the molecular level talking about mutations driving evolution I just get so bored :L

Yeah I found the molecular stuff way more interesting.
