I shall just leave this here. Thoughts? People consider this to be a likely hoax and such but I can believe it.
This, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b2bExqhhWRI is a 100% definitely real thing though and look at 25 seconds in when to dude kicks it and it compensates for it; that's incredible, huh? One way or another we might start seeing real life METAL GEAR!s sometime soon.

Man I feel like this thread pops up every few months.
Even if mechs were commercially available buying a car is already hard enough.
That Kurata thing isn't real but Boston Dynamics do make awesome stuff. Check out their other videos, their products are insane.
They built a walking and running humanoid robot in order to 'test out outfits for the military'.. yeah right.
As far as leading to the creation of actual mechs reminiscent of those in tv shows I think the Boston Dynamic stuff is mush closer anyway. That robot can move in a more dynamic, natural way much like fictional mechs do. Kurata is more like a glorified tank than a true mech, regardless of it being fake or real.
am I the only one who thinks the second one is incredibly creepy...
Man, we've known about BigDog for yeaaarrsss, and it's still awesome. Love Boston Dynamics stuff.
