Dustycher's Amateurish Critique Corner
Hello everyone.
I am an amateur who would like some critique. I am not much of an artist but I enjoy art, comics and storytelling, thus I joined here.
I have been developping my art skills very slowly for about a year now. Here is my latest piece:
[/IMG]
I have named it "Beetle Man", because it is an imaginary hybrid of a man and a beetle, not totally realistic, however. It has an exoskeleton, spiky limbs, hair even. The face is inspired from Marvel's Venom.
I made the piece with pencil and rubber on a sheet of paper. Then, I scanned it and tweaked it with MS paint.
I will try to upload to photobucket as soon as possible. The site has been acting weird.
Thanks.

If you wanna get serious with art, I, and many respected artists, suggest you download Loomis's books. Start with "Fun with a Pencil" and then go on to his anatomy & gesture books:

Also take a look at Vilppu's stuff. Heres a pdf of his drawing manual :

Good luck!

My latest venture into anatomy and perspective.

The proccess was the same. It was made with traditional means, then tweaked digitally. Still work in progress.
It features 2 friends waiting for some means of transport.

I think you need to use references for now. Try to just work on straight forward views until you know human anatomy really well.
