Happy Birthday, America

I feel everyone name it like that, because saying United States of America is too long and it's really hard to call people from that place with such a name. Which I still can't see why it should be proper used, as you are basically saying that everyone else on America are not from the continent or have no property over it.

No we're not saying that we are just calling our country america there is no hidden meaning or message or anything its just a nice word that rolls off the tongue

But what about America? and America? there is also America? Not everyone can be America, specially because naming yourself as a entire continent holds such connotations.
