Edit: Hey go to general settings and make sure u have private messages turned ontoast has chosen not to receive private messages or may not be allowed to receive private messages. Therefore you may not send your message to him/her.
man i checked in general settings and all it says under messaging and notifications is "recieve email:" and "default thread subscription mode:"

idunno I dont see a way to send you a message either, like theres nothing on my/your profile, in the settings, or at the top, or when i click your name
