@Bacon: Thanks man . Well, I didn't plan on doing a background. Clem rarely used backgrounds in any of his concept character pieces, so I followed his example. I started out the coloring using GIMP and multiply layers...GIMP was failing me and didn't have the feel I wanted. So I went back into Sketchbook Pro and found that I could simply color under the lines..lol. So for this whole thing I used Sketchbook Pro, and the final edits were done in Photoshop.

@Cype: Also thanks. This isn't going to be part of my 'permanent' style. But I'll use it on the side for a lot of my concepts. Doing that challenge taught me a lot of new tricks..

The thing that holds his tools... The way it drapes over his torso, it looks like a giant roll of flab, maybe you should make it more consistent?

I'm going around and adding more stuff later on. And I'll probably texture/poly-paint it in the end, so it won't look like that.

Character is also pretty fat if you haven't noticed lol.

Updated, added er...some random details. I'm not using a concept or reference for this one, just making up stuff as I go lol.
I also threw away the last versions subdivisions in favor of finishing the low poly first, then sculpting later.

So, results for the challenge popped up today.
My piece didn't win overall, and it wasn't split up into categories like 2D/3D.
I sort of did basically place first in the 2D category though. I'm surprised it even got put in lol.

The gun is a really old model I did, and never found any use for it until now really so...right now it's just hanging off in space lol.
