Mein gott, man. Teach me your ways, I beseech you!!!
Make a drawing using massonite board covered with gesso, and making a texture with that gesso for the charcoal and conte to grip to. You could use a picture for reference, but could take the project in any creative direction you chose. I chose to put expression in my piece, and so decided to go with the grungy, dark look.

I have many a secret. I was meaning to work on a tutorial or something last week, but I forgot about it, and ended up forgetting to record my steps, lol.
I'll see if I can get around to that soon :u.
@Ged: Lool, don't worry man, you should've been here a few years ago. All my drawings were dark, grim, and every character had to have demon wings of some sorta lol.
@Kaspar: Thanks
Here's a piece I did yesterday, based off a doodle I did a few weeks ago.
I actually just fleshed it out for a class project for DrawingII, but I don't know if I actually want to use this for it, so I may end up using it for a personal piece.
Hand drawn, inked with Micron pens.
I may or may not decide to color this one, lol.
You wanted more detailed stuff, Ged? BAM!
This is the colored version. Almost done so far.
This was done completely in colored pencil. I also removed a few details here and there from the inked version, so that I could make it easier to color, and balance the design out a bit more.
Bad quality. I'll scan it in when it's done.
