The whole game is ridden with typos. That's why Japanese should never localize their own games.

I'm surprised no one has said Contra. I loved that game.

There is also Starfox, but that was for the N64. Still amazing though.

    Ah yes... Contra.
one of the most memorable and unforgiving games i've played so far.
i only managed to finish Contra 4 once, after getting amped up on coffee.
it might have cost my beauty sleep, but it was totally worth it.

Speaking of Contra - I don't think anyone mentioned the other great game of that time:

Ninja Gaiden I & II (NES)

    Other cool games I liked:

    Blaster Master (NES)

    Faxanadu (NES)

    Wanderer of Ys III (SNES)

    Popful Mail (Sega CD)

    - Guardian Legend

    SEGA Genesis:
    - All Sonic series, especially Sonic 2 and Sonic 3 & Knuckles
    - Gun Star Heroes (if only Treasure could make the sequel at least as good as this)

    SNES:
    - Chrono Trigger (no brainer)
    - FF VI (also a no brainer)
    - Front Mission (the one that start the series, what else need to be said?)

    PSX and Saturn
(I won't write any since there is too many and still too new anyway... but I still need to mentioned this one)
Virtual On (high speed battle mecha VS mecha, one of my most favorite game)
*Back in time bro fist* ;I

Also, Mechwarrior 2 (PS1), Bionic Commando (NES), Rune (PC)...

First game I ever completed was Sonic Spinball on my sister's Game Gear. 21 times. :p

I used spend a lot of time in the arcade...taking folk's money on Street Fighter & Street Fighter 2. But I did manage to play other cool arcade games:

Dungeons & Dragons: Tower of Mystara rocks, but you needed four people to beat the game.

Captain America & the Avengers was another great 4 player arcade game too.

1983 Star Wars game was like actually being in an X-Wing...if outer space was made up of vector lines.

    Serously..I'm a beast on Street Fighter(s)...

...I allways play with this guy. ^ Ken Masters & will will own you!!!

When I wasn't whooping up on punks on Street Fighter, I'd do 'em in on Karate Champ.

somehow i never really managed to get the hang of fighting games.
for some reason i can't seem to remember combo's and such.
the only fighter i was actually "good" at was Battle Arena Toshinden.

I didn't remember many moves either but if you know at least 3 - one projectile move, one at close range and an uppercut-type move, then you can at least hold your own. It also helps if you keep at it with the same character (even though it won't be as fun) so that you specialize in that person's moves.
