You feel bad thread

Just now I feel bad that my 1 year old niece.

got her head bumped because I was rushing to save her from going to the stairs... but she happens to be not there..

I didn't see cause it was dark and I was rushing towards the stairs.
when she was actually in front of me and bumped her hard and hit her head in the floor.

now everyone is criticizing me

Ram, I have a story that is kind of like yours that made me feel bad at the time. This happened a while ago, I was on a tram (a type of public transport) and I was sitting opposite this lady who had a little girl with her, probably about 3 years old. Anyway she wasn't making the girl sit down properly so she was standing up on the seat and looking out the window. The tram stopped really suddenly, so this little girl falls down, and hits her head right on my knee so hard that I had a bruise there after. The women started apologizing to me for what happened, but I felt really bad for pretty much kneeing this little girl in the head. No wonder she started crying after.
