I read somewhere a suggested happiness exercise where at the end of the day you list off 10 good things that happened to you that day. Its meant to help you change to a more positive way of thinking. I'm not sure if it works though since if you don't have much good stuff going on you end up being like 'oh yeah that sandwich I had for lunch was great' and its kind of more depressing than if you hadn't done it. Thoughts? Anyone else care to try it out?
being alive? having a education? having a place to live? having friends? had a great life overall? having food on the table? people carrying about you? no one close to you die?

Clock, those things are all true, but they don't necessarily=happiness. There is a difference between being grateful and being happy. While I have the perspective to realize I am incredibly lucky to have those things and am grateful for them they do not make my day to day moods suddenly always amazing. If that's how you function then you are pretty lucky.

I never said it was for no reason. There are reasons. They are just not because I lack any of the things you listed. There are lots of other reasons to be sad then just the massive ones you listed. Also I'm trying to over come it, because I know its bullshit for someone in my position to feel this way. I find its not as simple as just flicking a switch though.

Its the sort of problems that I am reminded of often by things I see or do or say or think so its fairly hard to leave them alone. I'm just trying to distract myself from them all the time

    Please take this to pm.

Anyways, I'm really happy that I have a second chance to finish my education, and have a shot at a decent life.
