Transit of Venus, 2012
I agree it's not my best thread, but It'll have to do.
I don't understand much why people are so worked up about this thing.
it's just a venus eclipsing the sun and people around me saying "oh I'm so lucky to see this in my lifetime!"
for me I'm lucky I had internet on my lifetime, or lucky that I wasn't born in the time of the world war 1 or 2... still not sure about 3 though.

Yeah. I don't care either. Blah, blah, blah, Venus. Blah, blah, blah, take dump and go to sleep.

there's many astronomical events that only happen every 100+ years. If you missed the Venus Passage in 2004 or 2012, you can see something else in 10 years or so.
I didn't see it now cause it was too cloudy and I didn't have the right tools. But I saw it in 2004, so I'm pleased :P

I saw it. It was okay I guess. Kinda of a reminder of how insignificant all this shit is...

you need special shades that is made with a blueish black infra red layer that makes it possible to look at the sun without burning your eyes. I used those in 2004 at school. they're really cool.
