agreed, but... I do get really excited when a movie is true to the book. Especially since they ruined a couple of books I liked when I was younger (i'm lookin at you Eragon and Series of Unfortunate Events!)
Of course that excitement wears off if the movie itself isn't very good...
FUCK THEM, they ruined my favorite book series ever in one movie, wtf were they thinking!? I demand a remake, done the RIGHT way.

Books of movies suck, but books of games are surprisingly alright.
Steven King was also angry at Sunshine. And you know what? people love it. Why? because a movie doesn't have to be like the book, just look at the Clockwork Orange, the movie is not equal to the book, why is that? because it doesn't need to be like the book, and because its a movie, a different medium, and as such, you can explore new angles (or just focus on one angle) of the subjects the book deals.
