i feel like if you're gonna have art under your skin forever it ought to be something that expresses the core of your ideals and personality rather than a shitty band logo. mythology is a good choice, maybe. if i were inclined to get a tattoo i'd probably get something similar to the scene on the lycurgus cup or maybe prometheus bringing fire to man

Depends on what you choose to have on your skin. I don't just want anything tossed on me. I've already explained why I want the Deftones tattoo, cause they are the sexiest band ever, and their music speaks volumes to me, and overall means a lot. Therefore they've earned a place on my body at some point in time.

As for Devildriver, that's simply on impulse, being another one of my favorite bands.
So I mean, I'd rather have that on my arm that something I thought about for 10,000 hours only for it to turn out to be an upside-down cross with a halo on top, and spikes around it. And have the meaning written underneath.

And besides, nothing wrong with repping your favorite sounds, it says something about you either way.

I actually got some money together, printed out a pic of what I wanted tattooed on me and was actually going to go to the parlor, get one of those sleeves on my arm... then I realized that eventually I might no longer like the tattoo one day, and that getting it removed hurts and is expensive, and decided not to get a tattoo.
