you're improving in leaps and bounds JJ 
only thing i can say is:
even though this is a stylistic choice it might be nice to see how this affects the overall look of your drawings. try making the band of highlighting th8icker and make it jump up and down following the shapes of the hair

Haha, thanks! I use to make thicker, zig-zaggy higlights, but I've been drawing most of these at around 1 a.m. or while exhausted from staying up till 4 (curse my summer schedule!), so I'm trying to get away with as little work as possible

I usually like to leave old pictures in the past and move ahead, and if I do recover them, I prefer to redraw the whole thing (I know, I'm wierd!)
