This discussion just made me realise the difference between me and my friends. i'm still a kid (know the consequences, but value the good, and not really regard the bad unless it's really really bad; take risks) and they've grown up a lot (think a LOT about any decision or the next step and evaluate all the pros and cons and still make sure there's a safety net...all that). It's like two ways of looking at things. And you can't really say that one is right and the other wrong, coz each has its own good and bad. But it's a little difficult to convince them about some things when they are very concerned about you. And all because you look at things differently.
looking at things differently is fun.
I'm thinking about taking Mandarin in College. Someone remind me why this is a horrible decision.
Yeah, I know. Personally I would much rather take Japanese, being a bit of a Japanophile, but it's got a lot less practical uses. I'm also thinking of doing some work with the Peace Corps when I get out of College, and they don't do any work in Japan but they do in China.
