Eh. There was alot of batshag silly stuff in Gantz generally, I don't think you can say that vampires are more silly than an Onion man or a giant evil version of one of those 8-balls that you ask questions... But that's what I was saying about the 'intentional terribleness' anyhow. Part of the charm. B-movie-ness.
And like I said, I don't think it's a total trainwreck or anything. Just eh. Maybe there is just some anti-nostalgia going on.
Um no the vampires are allied with the aliens it comes out of fucking nowhere. It is considerably more strange.

I think the anime really ruined it for a lot of people and that's p disappointing.
