Naw, it's just that d-pad is a far more precise control mechanism than either of those. Mini analog sticks and circle pads are just clumsy.

A D-Pad is also much easier to program for, making it better for indie-ness. But eh...
Overall, I an't sure. Mobile phones are already making leaps and strides trying to do the same thing, so really the controls are the only major boon at the minute. Would I pay £100 for that? I dunno. Depends on what level of games are actually compatable with it. Exclusives would definately make me feel more confident about their place in the market, too.
More precise but less fluid. I just tried out Phantasy Star Zero on the 3DS, and it handles SO much more comfortably than the D-Pad did. But whatever, I could deal with a D-Pad.
