Gunzet: YEAAAA, that eye is....it needs to be poked out. You're right bout the green part covering the black though. And you know, I thought to same thing with the nose but with the ref I have, it's actually pretty apart from the nose. I haven't haven't worked in all the shading yet, but things always screw up when I add more shadows with human faces.....But I will be working some more shadows in there. Maybe I can see if moving in the cheek will make it look all right. Thanks for the thoughtful crit!

Spider: For once, my lips didn't come out like thin paper strips.

OAO ....uniiiiicoooorn..........Really nice good color transition hard yet so soft. I think the horn is a bit budgy and unstable, and i think the ears are too big. Other then that pretty awesome!

FYI, the colors are messed up. I haven't gotten to fixing them on the screen; my tablet PC has some funky colorage going on, so please don't comment on that.

Besides grunging him up, what do you think I could do to make up his character? What sort of things should I add to make him more interesting? etc

Love all the pics you've posted, the shading and colours you use are great! For the unicorn, imo the horn is fine, but I agree about making the ears a bit smaller. For the picture of the guy (pirate?) I'm not sure what you could do to make him more 'interesting', depends on his character really! Maybe a scar on his face? or add a pattern on his headscarf? I think he looks great though, and the eyes are really good. I really like the last picture, would like to see it coloured! For the girl in the left, I think maybe you should move her bellybutton over to our right a bit, as the positioning of the centre of the skirt looks a bit further over (unless her upper body is twisting in which case ignore me)

It actually is twisting, but hey, it might look better there!

I really like the checkered idea. I thought about a scar, but I thought that might look too generic.
