The trapdoor resisted Lucy's attempts at mental manipulation, clearly locked. Mishkala could not find any traps, but she wasn't very confident. Abigail kept the secret entrances to her laboratory trapped (non-lethally, of course. "Goodness, what if someone died?!"), after all.

Mishkala seemed more or less frozen in place, now basically using Lucy as cover despite the rather hopeless size difference. The drider would definitely have thought to place a trap in a place like this herself, after all, but didn't want to be seen as a gigantic coward by simply running away.

"...T-They're probably going to tell you to open it, boy..." Her face scrunched up in annoyance, before giving Titian one of the oddest looks of 'affectionate pity' going. "...But... but... don't do it!... You'll get hurt, okay?... Just cause... j-just cause you're a daft little male... it's..."

Before he could even gain eye contact, the weird sympathetic moment was instantly over, and she had stuck her nose right back up at him in favour of examining the door a little more.

...Damn it, not infront of the human women... What's wrong with you... Stupid worthless girl...

If it was trapped, the spiderlass wasn't finding the trap.

"Eh?! Theres no way I'm opening anything that could be trapped!" The alchemist patted his pack and pockets, which made sounds of clinking glass and metals. "I'm carrying explosives... So everyone should just get the idea of me opening suspicious trapdoors out of their heads!"

Mishkala ought open it. If it's not trapped, that's good. If it is trapped, she's strong enough to take it.

And, of course, nobody but Abigail would really care if the abomination were injured.

[Regantor]

"...Strong enough?... Just what kind of monster do you think I am?" Mishkala was looking pretty upset about the comment. It wasn't exactly like her fleshy bits had much armour on or anything, and the spindily nature of her added limbs sort of suggested a disturbing speed and grace rather than toughness.

Crossing her arms awkwardly and huffing, she just stayed where she was and refused to move. "..."

"Well, Titian, you said you had some diddy explosives. Would you be a dear?"

[Evil_Cake]

"You- You want to blow it open?" Titian snapped his fingers, and a liquid filled vial appeared in his gloved hand. He reached his arm out and offered the vial to Mishkala. "Just throw this... but we should probably step back... Or maybe not do this at all!"

[Delphinus]

For the love of the Saint, hurry up.

[Regantor]

As soon as the others had livened up enough the get out of the room, Mish threw the vial at the trap door and then quickly yanked the rest of herself back out of harms way, and slaming the room's proper door to deflect the expected wave of pressure.

It was a bit like watching a trap door spider at work, only in reverse.

The door slammed hard against Mishka, but she was able to keep standing and avoid any real damage. Some crap fell off the walls in the main hall, too. Peeking in, Mishka could see that the bomb had scorched the whole room black, incinerated all the paper and most of the wooden objects and also removed the trap door. Like. Entirely. Not even splinters.

Of course, odds are that every horrible monster in the mansion not only heard the explosion, but probably felt it, too.

Best get moving.
