Seriously, it's all the fault of the management of GSC.
Putting up insanely short deadlines, thus not giving the developers enough time to thoroughly test the game for bugs and glitches.
Which is exactly the reason why the first 3 S.T.A.L.K.E.R.s were full of them. understanderbly, a large part of their employees moved to 4A games (the creators of Metro 2033 and the upcoming Metro 2033: Last light).
let's just hope it gets picked up by someone who doesn't fuck it up mercilessly (i'm looking at you Bethesda and EA)

Seriously, i hate those things with a pasion.
Along with any other form of DRM.
And not to mention they pretty much exploit every franchise they can get their corrupted hands on.

I just keep hoping they wont reboot Crusader: No Remorse...
