Didn't Overture come out in like 2008 or something.
Last GG I played was Dust Strikers that came out in 2006 on the DS.
Been playing some Bioshock infinite lately in a speedrun mood and it makes the game quite fun :8
Isn't Blazblue basically Guilty Gear in all but name? I loved GG but never actually got around to playing Blazblue.
Steam also wants me to pimp out my Dotas. I got eight of them.
-No dust button. Instead each character has a special button that has a unique function for them.
-Hitstun decay. I hate this. Some people love it. Whateva.
-Two button throws (ugh) and an exclamation point that tells you you need to tech (I actually loved this Im sure a lot of people didnt though)
-You can combo into throws, though it increases tech time. It's like KoF but you get a chance to escape basically.
-IKs have been replaced by astral moves. Idr how these work but they're crazy flashy.
-Fucking bars. Everyone has their own bar. Bars have bars. Hope you like bar management.
-Combos much much easier to do because the game buffers your inputs for like 5 frames I think. I'm all for accessibility honestly but it's ruined by the hitstun decay.
-Vampires are no longer manly awesome dudes they are lolis and generic anime guys in red coats.
-And so much more I can't remember
I didn't think the game was bad or anything. I just hated the hitstun decay -- you'd think hey I should be able to combo this. Well you can, but you need to sacrifice a large chunk of the combo so that the opponent can't punish you when you unexpectedly decay all their hitstun. Also the game was extremely poorly balanced in its first revision. Nu-13 is like... imagine fighting dhalsim if he had 18 arms.
