To be fair, while there are a lot of douchebags and crazed fundamentalists around, there are nice people everywhere; you just have to look longer and harder to see them than the bastards. Most people don't want to hurt you, and people who you really value are precious because they're so rare, like an exclusive and beautiful piece of art. There are moments in life that make it worth living all the time, from the simplest little things (the sun setting in the distance as the cool wind whispers through the trees) to the grandest things (the Parthenon and the glories of architecture and human achievement and science and the new diversity of culture everywhere). So just because there are sometimes bad days, don't forget that life is beautiful, and that there's a million and one things to live for. Sex, wine, music, friendship, art, to name a few. People can achieve great things - alone, or working together - and the future is not predetermined.
