Okay, so I personally really like some types of body modification. I would say within reason... but really, I mean do whatever the hell you like. You wanna have a split tongue? Fine. Hope that 18+ months of excruciating pain is worth it for you, even if I wouldn't personally do it.

SO HERE IS A THREAD TO TALK ABOUT BODY MODIFICATION.

Piercings
Tattoos
Scarification
Implants
Extreme Modifications
Suspensions

Also hair dye and more 'out there' haircuts would be cool to talk about as well

Etc, etc.

If you don't like body mods, think they're gross, or that I or any other person is gross because of them or whatever then fine, have that opinion. Just please resist the urge to splurge it all over me, because I don't care and am still going to stretch my ears, pierce myself, and get tattoos.

Septum because they're easy to hide, and I kinda like how small-diameter hoops look. It's just that so many walk around with large-gauge bullrings that there's a big stigma surround it. (Though, I would wear a tusk, haha.)

Speaking of small-diameter hoops, I put a hoop in my nose the other day and the diameter was waaaay too big. *fistshake* Hopefully I can buy a smaller one tomorrow.*

Just recently, my parents criticized me for liking body mods. They're like, "YOU WOULD WANT TO DO ALL THAT CRAZY STUFF TO YOUR BODY?!"

"Looks" better? How? And also, how do you know if that tattoo has a story? For my 18th birthday I'm getting a tattoo, but the meaning behind it is incredibly personal so the likelihood I'll actually tell anyone about it is nil.

I prefer tattoos and body modifications which are cultural(aka Tribal - be them tattoos, piercing and etc.). I profoundly dislike modern body mod. (with the exception of the eye tattoo).

I can't quite say I know what you're saying, here. Do you mean that you only like body mods as part of cultural tradition instead of modern aesthetic?



Alsoooo, this is light-moddy: Chunks of my hair are turning grey because I'm too lazy/undecided/potentially poor to redye it blue. XD It's like this nasty slate color that keeps getting worse every time I wash it, haha.

Feel the pain, there. i used to have blue hair and it would turn either nasty grey or green :s Now i have purple hair and the purple washes out after a while, so you can see bleached parts...and now my roots are growing it D: looks bad!

At least purple turns pink after a while, though. I used to bleach my hair and dye it bright red and it turned this horrible shade of orange after a while.
