Somebody found a decent way to play with friends.
A friend and I found a pretty quick method to co-op on PS3. Get in the place you want to play in. Quit the game, then both load at the same time. Have one person put down a sign, eventually it will show up, from then on, your will be on the same lobby.

Is anyone but me annoyed by the human NPCs voices? They're like...whispering to you in really obnoxious accents that put a lot of stress on the first and last syllables of every word.
I actually love the voices and accents.

It's grating in a sort of "oh god that is unnerving and creepy" sort of way. I never found it obnoxious, to be honest. I think it did what it's supposed to do. I realize it's a bit narm-y, though, so I get you, but I like it. It fits really well with the game. The thing which gets me most about it is how just about everyone does these empty, wicked sounding laughs after they're done talking.

Yeah those laughs make me consider killing the NPCs just in case they turn on me... I went back to the undead asylum a little earlier than I should have >>'
