    KayleL Sketches

    Hello everybody!

It's been a while since I been here, and I didn't even post much when I was last here. I must say that I like the redesigned website.

Since I don't do anime often, I uploaded some of my other practice sketches.

You could see my old thread here:

    Photos from old thread:

    New photos:
Bonus point if you know what anime this is from.

I'm quite liking the feet and leg studies, you should definitely do more anatomical studies and post them (: I recommend you try and practice a lot on those, because they work great as references/figuring out what you need to work on more.

I don't have much to say on the fan art, did you copy this from the original anime? Otherwise it'd be cool to see some of your own newer OCs and art!

Right now, I am going back and forth between two authors. Bridgman and Burne Hogarth. I find that Bridgman is too loose while Hogarth is too fine, and precise, which makes quick sketched a little harder to do. I am trying both to find my own balance between the two authors, and see where it leads me.

I would also like to throw in Mike Mattesi in the mix, but his books are damn impossible to find here.

As for anime, I still really don't know how to draw it. I just know how to copy a screenshot with moderate success (without actually tracing on top of a photo).

I really like the anatomy sketches. But I do agree with you; Hogarth has a really rigid style that I don't particularly like for direct study. Though, I must say, you do a really good job with emulating it. Say, have you tried any Andrew Loomis books? he might just have the style that you're looking for.

distance between the eyes are one eye apart. well since your aiming for different style then i guess your just gonna egnore these types of rules.
anyway i really do like your stuffs, specially the skeletal sketches.
