Tubes huh? What's it like? Is it similar to painting? I use the dry ones.

Tube watercolors are definitely more difficult for me to use than pan watercolor. Tubes are like huge blobs of pigment that need to be mixed with higher concentrations of water. It's tricky to get lighter tones with it. However, since I have been watercoloring on 3-foot canvases lately, it's nice to have tube watercolors because the coverage is much, much, much greater and more efficient.

Also, OP: have you tried using a hard square brush? Those are very precise and may be just what you need for the style you're looking for!
