Night scenes, effects, etc

I'm going to show you guys the prologue to my comic book and (I don't want to redo it) but in future pages I want to make sure I understand effects and toning as much as possible.

I am doing this digitally and I do study a lot of different Manga from different people. Kaori Ozaki, Yuu Watase, Chika Shiomi, just to name a few.

I think the one thing I'm having the most infuriating problem with is backgrounds...I have to draw in PS entire city scape and I know that there are ways around that but...not with the setting of this one. (I made it hard on myself **sigh)

If you have any suggestions on how to make these even stronger in composition I would love to hear/read them.

featured is all 10 peages PLUS the cover. And I finished coloring the title page which I am linkg right now so let me know if you have anything. I really want this to be awesome.

I am using PS at teh moment, trying to save up for manga studio or something.

Well I think that the backgrounds and effects are spectacular, especially at the first scene with the lightning and the guy. The words were a little small in comparison to the page though, but that's more of a personally preference than something to actually worry about. Everything was clean and flowed, and even though I really don't know much of what's going on, I'm sure that I'll understand more as you draw more of the series, especially since this is only the prologue. Some of the lines on the people I found a little awkward, but for the most part the art was pleasant also. Great job!
