The Musicians Thread: Only wonderwall covers from now on

Ahahaha I was actually just thinking of that song... and then it made me depressed.

So how do you guys feel about DJs? Not like artists who go by "DJ" or people who use samples, but people who get paid to go parties and just play music they didn't make. You know, like the types at cheap high school dances. They make like hundreds of a dollars a night, I believe.

It's pretty dumb imo. The only point of them is to create a flow of one song to another so it's not "jarring" for the listeners but that's not even hard to do.

I have a pretty who cares opinion about that. I've psuedo-dj'd at parties with a laptop and its annoying as shit. Dudes requesting songs in the middle of songs, and its like the same dude. Play this song no no this one, and then halfway through hey change it to this song. P thankless job that requires the ability to put your own taste aside and read a crowd.

Yeah but I mean you're paid to do that. And paid well. So in the end, isn't it more than worth it? Besides, playing whatever's on the billboard 100 will probably fly.

I unno I just never liked the idea of someone getting paid for that. It's like an issue of a producer getting paid more than their artist.
