I hate self check-outs simply on the premise they do eliminate jobs. Further, I'm lazy. I just got done doing all my shopping, now I have to do all my own shit too? And then there's the the inevitable fuck up from the machine where a person has to come over anyhow. Or you have too look up the fruit yourself and that. I would rather my money go to pay someone to do a job. I think Aldi's is the only place I don't mind doing my own bagging...otherwise it's just awkward.
