I don't get it...there's a loser's bracket? What's that mean? I thought if you didn't make it past this poll, you were out.
It's double elimination and these were the placement matches. I assume this is done so that the stronger entries don't crush the others before they have a chance. I'm not sure about this following part, but I don't think anyone lost any chances by losing the placement matches.

it was just the placement match ;) No need to panic. the actual elimination start as soon as the poll is reset. Then if you lose, you're out. Now they just sorted it into 2 brackets.
