I got Maya free through Autodesk's student program, and I can get 3DS Max if I want. I'll switch over to that. It seems like Max has a lot more tutorials than Maya.
And a symmetry tool.

Usually Maya has everything that Max has, just named differently, so it's a bit difficult to find the equivalents.
Oh yeah graphite modeling is the shit it's really useful if you do most detail work in 3ds Max instead of Zbrush (which I recommend btw) then yeah use graphite
I really want Zbrush4R2
Just for that new feature...unfortunately i only have Z4 the vanilla version. But this spring I'll be able to use it, assuming there's no R3 by then lol.
