Grohs sense of smell took him straight to the cupboard that Jang had clearly missed when she first searched this room. It wasn't much of a surprise that she missed it. The cupboards were filled with small barrels which were seemingly filled with many days worth of non-perishable foodstuffs. He was taking this.
He looked at Jang, listened to her out burst, then looked slowly over at one of chefs who was standing nearby. He scatched the back of his head with his right hand, his long, lizard-like fingers reaching far down his neck. Without looking, he then punched the chef solidly in the face, sending a fountain of blood and bloodclots into the air, toppeling the chef to the floor. He looked down at Jang.
'He'll pass that on to the others.'
There were four barrels of food in the cupboard, and Groh could quite sustainably pick up three of them, but not the forth. He grabbed the ones he could, then headed towards the door they entered through, saying to Jang on the way out;
'Grab that last barrel. Lets get off this tub of shit.'
Jang still looked a little angry as her hairy companion decked the chef, perhaps not realising that the human was there at all until now. The actual punch satisfied her a little. Afterwards, she added a hefty tail slap to the side of the man's ribs for good measure.
"Not fool Jang, you! I hurt you." She made a growl and scrunched up her face, then clutched the last barrel to her chest with new haste. "You not say you fool Jang, 'cause you didn'. I hurt you ugly, hear? No say, hear?"
Without bothering to hear an answer, she then just wriggled out of the room, and back up to the main decks in pursuit of Groh.
"He not fool me." The merperson continued to insist, now towards the Hadozee's formidable back. "I see kitchen box before. Just they hide well, hear? Not Jang fault."
The captain just shrugged. "Guess so. Take what you want, it's not like we can stop you."
"I actually came to ask about the sea monster, we were gonna take all your stuff anyway"
"Lusca did it. The damned thing grabbed our escort and pulled her right under. Lots'a good men died. Tried to pull us under, too, but we managed to get away in time."
"Then you showed up."
Zach Figured Lusca wouldn't be likely to chase them.
"Well you're lucky it's me and not some other gang of pirates. Where were you headed?"
"Caleruega. And guess so."
"Well I think that's enough chatter. You and your men can help pack my ship, I'm gonna go look for some paperwork." Zach patted the other Captain's shoulder and headed off to what he assumed was the captains quarters.
Other than the manifest, there wasn't anything too helpful in any of the ship's paperwork.
The Grumbly losers moved all their stuff onto the Nave del Partido.
Zach pocketed the manifesto and headed back to his ship, thanking the loser captain as he began sailing back to Latoti.
The good Captain made his way to the helm to address the men. (and women)
"Good work crew, you managed not to kill everyone and I appreciate it, just for that I'm gonna give up my share of this loot, meaning you all get more gold." Zach looked to be in a good mood.
