My mother and I had collected a massive amount of anime VHS's that we sold a while ago at a flea market and as I went through them I realized the majority of them were really just porn. I kept one because I felt it was the best example of perversity for the time, but of course nowadays it would be considered extremely tame.
*Sits back smugly*
See, my point hath been proven.
Actually, I did see Trigun, but's that's about the only "old" show, plus a bunch of Miyazaki stuff.
Trigun though, best bad old show ever.
how is trigun bad
*its not* Ahem, ^^^
I think cartoon network ran it so long that it started to feel bad (at least to me). Same thing with Cowboy Bebop. But before they got stale they were cool.
It was an okay show, but Vash's constant 'peace & love' schtick really got on my nerves after a while. I think I would have liked Trigun a lot more if Wolfwood had been the main character.
I do still regret not going to see the film when it was on here though.
Its precisely interesting because the main character wasn't a wolfwood type. Think about the year trigun was created.
I mean weren't you guys just talking about how ridiculous the grimdark stuff was.
Ridiculous it may have been, but I wouldn't say I didn't like it.
I'm not trying to pick a fight or anything, I just wasn't that keen on Trigun.
Nah...Trigun's cool. The story's good and...Jubes is right about Vash being the protagonist. If Wolfwood was I think that it would've been just a whole bunch of shit getting blown up.
Well a whole bunch more shit anyway.
Vash's peace mentality...but with all that destructive power in that stark world is what made it interesting for me. I just got burnt out on it. Now that yous guys have been talking about it, I might just watch that shit again over the weekend because the new shit's getting boring to me again. I've been watching Serial Experiments Lain & it's pretty good though. Of course, I like the creepy stuff.
Seriously, having watched a lot of stuff in the 90's... all in all I can'y complain too much because it opened the doors to all of the awesome stuff we have now.
I just wish they'd concluded 3x3 Eyes! Been looking for that since 1998. The 3x3 Eyes: Perfect & Complete Sets don't do the whole finale. Yakamo Fuji is one bad little dude.
