Let's exercise!

How do you get it to not blend together like that D: I've been trying to do it with Sai for ages. I gave up and just went back to photoshop :<

I used the brush tool for almost all of it, just a simple circle one, and used various tones and tints of pink and then green. I just started using Sai, this is my first piece using it. I think you just have to mess around a bit to figure something out that works for you.

Though this might have to do with having the "Blend" box checked :X

I can't see any "Blend" box on mine. Try unchecking it and see what that does. I haven't tried doing people in Sai yet. I don't have a tablet; I use a mouse, so whenever I draw stuff, it's on paper first and then scanned in. I do cartoons on gimp normally.

Oh, my new favourite tool? Gotta be the water one! You can do some interesting shading with it. I was messing around right now and tried to do a cloud.

The torso on the third one seems wrong. Although I like your back. How do you make your guidelines?
