Well, you've come to the right place XD. your over all anatomy isn't bad at all my friend. Of course There's a lot of room for improvement. the first thing I noticed is that you draw your mouths waaay too low. This makes them appear to have a small chin, or, no chin at all. keep studying the facial anatomy of your favorite style. secondly, although I saw some wrinkles, most of your clothes seem to be pretty flat looking and plain. Don't be afraid add some wrinkles and details.

OKay, thanks for the advice, actually I am a bit lazy to draw wrinkles which is why I don't, but I will try a bit more

The guy in the middle is drawn with his mouth up higher and more folds

I quite like it, tbh. The face is the guy in the middle is great, but the body is a bit less great. In terms of proportions you're doing pretty well and you did a good job on the wrinkles so far. I'm sure that those things will work out better with more pracise.

About the middle guys left arm that's leaning on his leg, it's leaning too much inwards and the hand is oddly placed. Try doing that pose yourself and look in a mirror, you'll see how it works by yourself ^^ The other arm, the one sticking out has little volume. In this perspective, you need to make it more round, basically like a cilinder. We shouldn't be able to see much of his shoulder either, the arm is partially covering it.

About the fingers, every finger makes the same twist, which makes it look weird especially for the upper ones. I doubt I can bend my fingers that way. You can be satisfied with the hand for now, I'd understand, but know it's not like it should be. I'd say take a mirror and compare with your own hand :p it's an easy way to look at the correct shape :D Good luck!

A distraction from my WIP

His right arm looks stockier than his left. Not bad otherwise. C:

pretty well done. Id advice you work on how you draw legs. Sometimes they look a bit rectangular. But it is just a sketch I guess.

hey. .ur face renderin is definitely not bad. . but your hand drawing is not very good. .but thats ok. . . it doesn't mean that you should stop drawin'. . .you just need to practice more. .Hey. .I think that you should study more on foreshortening and perspective. . and ur mouth drawing is not that bad. .I think that it resembles that of Katekyo Hitman Reborn's. . .I hope to see your future projects. .^^

Thanks for all the advice everyone!

An OC my little sister made up, she wanted me to draw him.
Please note that there was not a terrible amount of effort put into this, especially his left hand, but overall, I think it turned out well

Sketch page of faces, please tell me how I can improve in this area. I just noticed that I used the same eyes for three guys, gotta work on more variety I guess. Look at all the eraser marks! OTL

Yeah technically speaking there all great. Good facial anatomy, good porportions and all that crap that you need. A good job on that. The style is even pretty attractive!
..But your right..you need variance. All your characters look very very similar. Many faces have the same shape, eyes and even hair looking through all your posts. Youv got all the key stuff down well but now youv got that, play with it abit. tweaking the rules a little helps with making different characters.

Theres umm..a thing I saved somewhere that would be perfect for you..umm
Got it!!
There you go, that should help you out with variance.

Yeah, thanks for the link, it will come in handy

My Turn!

You are VERY talented indeed! BUT (And I fail at this too in just my penciling) it could stand to be cleaner. I am very easily distracted, so extra lines tend to make me look everywhere, except at the figure itself. ^^;;

And I also agree with Scarlet, they look like the same dude (*totally clicked the link so she can vary more too*).

Wow. Its so nice. :D
But yeah your hand is not that good. Please don't be offended.
But that's fine to me because we're the same. I'm bad at drawing hands. xD
Just practice. That's what I can tell. :)

Wow it has been about a month since I last put stuff here, whatever, I was busy with other stuff.

Some random girl

A guy that looks somewhat different from my usual ones

I fix'd the WIP a little bit, but I really just stopped working on it altogether

Hand practice, because I really need it

08-20-2011, 08:35 AM
Nice stuff! I love it! You're a kind of person that can draw manga better than me.

08-20-2011, 11:17 AM
ok tats nice work so far...
i think guys helpe u a lot...but i want 2 say something too..
even if u practiced making those fingers they are still the same....
1>>> thickness of the fingers
2>>> thumb size
3>>> some look like banana shape
4>>> better if u put nails 2 make it mor realistic...
5>>> try making joints in each finger (each finger has 3 joints..)
tats all
try figure out those points...

you still got a lot to go when it comes to side view. head doesn't go slimmer in width when it's in side view. rather it becomes a little wider.
the front view is the slimmest.

also torso isn't wider on the part that's close to us. atleast it doesn't go that wide

08-21-2011, 04:06 AM
Ooh, I don't think I've seen this thread before. I really, really like the way you do hair. I'd watch out for proportion, though. your legs have a tendency to get a little boxy and too long.

08-25-2011, 05:24 AM
Okay thanks for the advice again. I am pretty bad at side view, mostly because I do not use it much. My hands still suck. Also I usually make legs kind of boxy because pants do not take on the shape of the leg usually, but it would not hurt to put in a few more folds. I will soon put up a sketch page of side views later so You guys can tell me what's wrong.

Your hands are pretty good!
