No one piece seems like a mistake. I mean literally, I'm not just being a fanboy.

05-10-2011, 06:33 PM
Hmmm sounds like not a good poll.....

Gintama Should be first.... and like other stuff is wrong i mean K-On! no. 4? i liked it but there are better one imo.... i think we need a more offcial one cuz i think 4.000 japanese people is still not many people...

05-10-2011, 06:39 PM
Yup, "top" and "one piece" always go together, that's a fact no living being can go against...

and angel beats first? really? i'm disappointed....

05-10-2011, 06:42 PM
I demand to know how this poll was conducted.

05-10-2011, 08:05 PM
As do I. I liked a lot of the animes up there, but seriously:

18. Strike Witches
I could be blindfolded and spun around a few times and still punch through the existing plot holes and predictability here. Just to name one. Maybe its popularity could be summed up to a bunch of young girls not knowing how to put on pants. Yet they're able to fly on jet-boots like the Spy Kids minus clothes and guys.

I guess the poll wasn't of "best story" or "best characters." I enjoyed a lot of them, even with the above reasons (I didn't like Strike Witches all that much. I quit after 2 predictable episodes).

The Japanese, I suppose (or at least those 4000) have vastly different tastes than we do. Also, can someone explain to me the deep meaning behind Angel Beats? The story was well above the average anime plot, but I don't really see anything that would propel it over the top.

Yay! Opinions.

I couldn't help but notice there was no FLCL.

I couldn't help but notice there was no FLCL.

QFT. And Haruhi for #8? Really? and no Spice and Wolf :cat_blood:

05-11-2011, 04:40 AM
"Opinions on how other people's don't match mine."

Although I agree with matt what the fuck's with strike witches being up there? I also agree with the spice and wolf thing.

I'm not really just how large this industry is (a million fans at least? maybe) but interviewing just 4000 people of only one nation doesn't really seem to be a really good way to conduct a poll on an international industry.

05-11-2011, 06:05 AM
I think this one sums it up;

2. Bakemonogatari

Lolwut. This series was okayish, but the second best of the 2000s? No way. It was kinda cute, but much too slow and pretensious to be given a spot that high up. >_>

I guess at least GITS, Eureka Seven, Planetes and Cowboy Bebop are even on there. Seriously, studio Bones, move over here! We love you more. :o

Also, can someone explain to me the deep meaning behind Angel Beats? The story was well above the average anime plot, but I don't really see anything that would propel it over the top.QFT, angel beats was one of the best example's of destroyed potential, nothing mre, nothing less.

Now that you mentioned bones, i noticed there's no FMA, wtf? FMA was one of the best nimes i had ever seen and it was quite popular, well... more popular than strike witches and working anyway... yay! for eureka seven....

Read again.

:monkey_question:...................:monkey_peek:. ................:monkey_whereru:..............:mon key_shocked:...............:monkey_ehheh: i was looking for brotherhood so i didn't see it.......

05-11-2011, 06:34 PM
Oh, and also no Hellsing Ultimate.

05-12-2011, 01:42 PM
Na-ru-to! Na-ru-to! Na-ru-to!

05-12-2011, 06:15 PM
I see no Samurai Champloo, Samurai 7, or Burst Angel on that list. Poll is null-void.

05-12-2011, 09:19 PM
Yeah I'm thinking they didn't ask enough people.
But I mean seriously...
Angel Beats!?!

05-12-2011, 10:06 PM
I don't know why you guys hate on Angel Beats so much, I thought it was p. good. (Though I don't think it didn't deserve #1, but it least deserves some recognition)

05-13-2011, 04:19 PM
No One Piece? I'm with Jubeh, this poll is inaccurate. OP is the biggest manga in Japan right now. How could it not be in the top 50, let alone not in the top 10?

05-13-2011, 07:39 PM
why the fuck are

1. lain
2. paranoia agent
3. monster

not present? these are all stupid kiddy animes with the exception of Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei and GITS. Oh and Air was okay too.

if this was done on reader poll, the readers deserve swift deaths

05-14-2011, 04:49 PM
though monster is my most favourite anime and i acknowledge the other ones as one of the bests, lets face it, they are not popular at all... AND lain and monster are pretty old too.

05-14-2011, 08:40 PM
They might not be popular, but all that proves is that the average person is an unrefined ruffian with no taste for high art.

05-15-2011, 04:34 AM
That was proved before the beginning of time, mate, it's a fact right now...

06-22-2011, 02:56 AM
FMA is at #12??? o.O I swear I thought that'd be higher up there!
