Hello mates, I want to know your opnion about game graphics. So do you think they are realy important? Or even a well developed game with poor quality images may be fun? Pacman Vs. Crysis.

Make your choice. =]

[I'm still trying to figure how to post links]

This question is so vague. Of course graphics are important. Games are a visual medium.

Are you asking if graphics are more important than gameplay? Or what?

Oh yeah, let me be especific. Graphics above all? The most important thing on a game are the graphics? They influence on how much fun you have? Or the gameplay comes first?

I'd prefer a good gameplay and poor graphics insted of super cool graphics and a poor gameplay. Ofcourse there are games having both made well and vice versa.

I've played Crysis Warhead. Awesome Graphics, BUT the game is too short (Y_Y). Sigularity had pretty good graphics and a large history/game time.

So I prefer gameplay

Do you not already know what people are going to say? I don't think anyone is going to say that graphics are more important than gameplay.

Is that Crysis?

I think I have to agree with Jubeh. But I still probably wouldn't play a good game with bad graphics... (Like a few of the games on the Wii)

Yeap, Crysis 2, acctualy the new Crytec engine, but crysis 2 will be realy close to that. I found better pic but I was afraid of they be fake.

I wouldn't play anything with bad graphics, but I wouldn't play anything with boring gameplay either. so.
I think the graphics are pretty important actually, they set the tone for the game and make it more interesting.

I'm attracted by pretty graphics, usually. But I sometimes don't care. I mean, look at Mario Bros. It's not the best graphics now, but it's still fun to play every now and then. And the old Final Fantasy games.

Well, i agree the gameplay matters more than the graphics, but then i wouldn't play a game that's got bad or annoying graphics, even if it's interesting.
Graphics are ok as long as they're not bad/irritating.

Any kind of graphic is fine with me just as long as it doesn't affect the gameplay or rather, that it enhances it.

I don't think the graphics are the main importents but it is cool how they look and stuff like that but I don't mind how good the graphics, if the game is fun I'll play it no matter what the graphics are.

I think a good example of graphics and gameplay working together is something like Paper Mario. It was purposely done in 2D to achieve the ingenious gameplay.

I think that graphics are important, but sadly, a lot of game companies are using graphics as a crutch.

Would you buy a REALLY COOL LOOKING car that had crappy brakes, an ancient motor, and a busted transmission? So, why buy a game with state-of-the-art graphics, but broken gameplay, a dull storyline, and zero replayability?

Even though the graphics are obsolete, there are a bunch of Playstation One games I still play because of everything else they bring to the table.

I think the gameplay is important... Super Cool Graphics makes me bored when the game goes on, that's if the gameplay is bad...
just my opinion.. :)

I agree whats the point of the graphics if the game isn't worth playing i mean yeah their are ppl that only care about the graphics bt most ppl i know including me will play any game if it's fun we don't care if the graphics are out dated look at the Final Fantasy series the older ones have better story lines then the newer ones in my opinion but the newer ones have the better graphics i'm not saying the newer ones aren't fun i like the i gest think the older ones have better story lines, so to me the graphics are cool but if the game sucks then whats the point?

Agreed. Fallout New Vegas has some moments where the graphics are not great at all, but the gameplay and some of the ragdoll physics are very satisfying.

Graphics is important... but don't forget the resource needed to make those graphics (both for the user and the developer). I think gameplay is equally (if not more) important. Even now, I still prefer 2D games (or with a little 3D hybrid) like Tales of Eternia (my favorite tales game), Mana Khemia, Ar Tonelico, etc.

And there are still so many factors that make a game sells like a hotcake (DS and Wii games are popular despite their inferior graphics compared to XBOX360 and PS3, right?). Like sounds, musics, controls, and so on.

Still, that doesn't mean I want to play a game with horrible graphics...

Graphics are important, however they are no more important than the gameplay. In the end what it all boils down to is whether you are able to play it. If it has awesome graphics, but plays like shit, then I probably would cast the game aside immediately. This question of playability however also applies to graphics as graphics do provide the player with a sense of immersion.

Let's be honest, playing a shooter set around present day (or world war 2 for that matter) with minecraft graphics wouldn't give you the same sensation as when you can see every detail of the face of that enemy soldier you just peppered with SMG rounds. The realistic graphics make you feel as if you yourself are in that game, because it is hard to tell the difference between reality and the game (well not quite, yet. But you know what I'm getting at).

Dude, I love duck hunt! My brother took the old nintendo with him and his N64 when he left home, so I don't get to play some of those old games anymore. To me, N64 was the best system. I haven't been keeping up with the newest systems at all.

As for answering the question, I think the gameplay's more important, but good graphics help, too. I like watching the cut scenes in adventure games.

As long as the game is good. But if the game(story) and/or physics are bad(Sonic 06) I would play the crap out of it. Remember Silicon Vally Space Station? One of the best 64 games ever! People mock me for it but who cares, a game is a game, offensive or not.
