So I've recently been introduced to television and I'm trying to catch up on all the cool shows I missed out on.

My favorite show is Psych, so anything with that tone is appreciated.

I like detective shows but not ones that focus a lot on forensics and stuff. Also anything funny. Even better if its on netflix streaming.

Stuff I've watched:
Dexter
Psych
Parks and Recreation
30 Rock
My Name is Earl

Watching:
Better off Ted
Twin Peaks

Suggestions plz

Also Game of Throne (new serie from HBO it promise to be awesome).

Might wanna check out Big Bang Theory. Pretty awesome if your part of the target audience.

Dexter and Big Bang are amazing.

Personally, my favorite shows are Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Doctor Who, but I'm a pretty lame (READ:cool) person. I almost never watch things on TV, I just wait for the DVDs/netflix or watch it on hulu (or by other online means).

I'm also really into True Blood, Castle, and The Mentalist.

Was lurking and saw this thread. Made an account just to tell you to watch Arrested Development.

For the love of God just watch it....

Oh and then if you haven't watched Flight of the Conchords I'd also suggest that too.

Stuff I'm following:
Big Bang Theory
House
Castle
Better with You (love the title track, I started watching it because someone made me listen to that)

Stuff I watched a few episodes of, and would like to follow:
30 Rock
Bones
Modern Family

Stuff I haven't watched yet, but in queue:
Dexter
Mentalist

I like comedies and psychological and murder mystery thrillers with more science. I used to like House, now I watch it because I'm used to it, and I like the characters. Have heard so much about Dexter, I really want to start it, but my exams are round the corner. And I love BBT. It's a must watch if you have a science background, or are a geek, or you probably won't get a lot of jokes. I used to watch How I Met Your Mother, but it got boring after 3 seasons.

Jubeh, I'll check Psych out. Title sounds interesting.

Luther, Randall and Hopkirk (Deceased), and Life on Mars/Ashes to Ashes are pretty good detective shows. Poirot is worth watching because of the moustache.

But I recommend BBC's Sherlock. It's a modern day retelling of Shelock Holmes. And it has Sherlock Holmes in it and it's pretty good. Watch it.

EDIT: Being pushy. Trailer.

Weeds. Never watched it myself, but just look at the title logo.

Dr. Pumpkin@ I was going to add the serie Sherlock.

I have a problem with Big Bang Theory. The serie is not bad, but is not amazing, in part because I hate the "can laughs" and the jokes are not so good (are like smart, but not hilarious), while Community is a ride of good jokes (in the good episodes).

Another vote for House. I also watch Criminal Minds. I liked the episode of Doctor Who I managed to accidentally flip on when channel surfing... but for some strange reason, I never managed to ever see another Doctor Who episode on TV again.

@ Jubeh
Twin Peaks? Wow, talk about a blast from the past. Totally cool series, btw. There are also books tied to the series.

I tried watching Fringe when my sister recommended it. But I was half sleepy, and dozed off mid-way. Dunno why, but never touched it after that. I'll try it out sometime.

Dead like me seasons one and two. Really awesome show imo. It was cancelled due to being so awesome it would cost to much money to keep going. Yeah hows that for a kick in the teeth fans?

If you've got netflix, Doctor Who is a crime to NOT watch. The Impossible Planet and it's sequel episode The Satan Pit are good teasers for whether or not you'll like, even if they're in the middle of the second season.

I watched when it was shown on Monday. For me, some of the sex scenes seem unnecessary. Bah, I'm only saying this 'cause my mom was watching it with me.

I'm pretty sure the scene with Tyrion and the 5 whores was a tad overdone
