Animation Academy - Class One: Storyboarding

Note - I have to wait till a friend comes home to get his camera so I can upload pictures for examples. This will be a day or two more. I thought I'd at least give you information now.

Intro - Everything in the world has to go through a refinement proccess. In most things it goes through this one:

Brainstorming
Rough Draft
Editing
Revising
Final Version

We are going to work with the step of brainstorming for animation. Storyboarding. Storyboarding is laying out the story in different pictures. For this lesson we will be doing one detailed storyboard step and 20 small thumbnail storyboards.

Goal - Get 20 thumbnail storyboards that follow a story and one of those storyboards turned into a more detailed storyboard.

Challenge - Make a set of 40 thumbnail storyboards for one story and turn 10 of them into detailed storyboards.

From my animation experience. Storyboarding is the fun, easy part....and then comes actually animating haha.
Awesome thing you got going on here Jai. I'd also recommend you throw in some professional examples or something just for expert testimony.

Goal - One story with 20 thumbnails or 20 stories with as many thumbnails we desire and one chosen from them to be detailed? Or.. huh?
Challenge - One story, 40 different ways to show it and then 10 of the ways - detailed?

Feeling as if those language classes were darn useless. o.O
