Hello MT, glad to be back, though I changed my nickname, it would be a surprise if you remember my previous name :)
I really look forward to improove my skills, cuz I know I lack a lot of things and I want to be really good at drawing :P so let me know what you think about my art and tell me what should I work on...
this is a sketch I did at school:
and some coloring (15 minutes...)
oh and I forgot, if you like watching AMVs especially Naruto and Bleach please take a look at my amvs, www.youtube.com/insomniacVID and there's a video with me drawing, but it's pretty crappy, recorded with webcamera...
04-02-2011, 02:06 AM
I've done a sketch last night, but I was too sleepy to post it...
...I don't know why his left hand can't be seen T_T I will fix it when I'll do some coloring....
04-02-2011, 08:11 AM
well im not as good as you but i think that i cvaleefay...oh you know what i mean(you probably dont(_._) )! i think that fristly you draw great and shade amaizing!! and secondly i think that in the last pic you drew the guys head a bit to large for the rest of the body.
04-02-2011, 08:30 AM
Nice sketch and the first piece looks decent as well. My only concern is with your colored version. First, you didn't give him an iris or pupil. D: But aside from that I think the coloring looks decent although a bit too blended for my taste. Also since his hand is so close it's kind of a focal point for the picture, so you may want to be a little more detailed with it. Like put highlights on the knuckles and maybe some skin creases as well.
04-02-2011, 09:11 AM
**Gedeon: yeah, I got a problem with heads... thanks :) I fixed it (I think...)
**nisaren: about the iris, I wanted to let at the end...for me it's an easy part, and the blending is something I don't like either, I will try to do it again :) about the hand, that's how I thought too, anyway thanks ^_^
I will try to work on this 2 and finish them, now I managed to do a fast coloring on the last one, I think I will finish it without the lineart...
04-02-2011, 06:23 PM
Great stuff dude, I hope to see more crazy lettering stunts!
04-03-2011, 03:07 AM
I redid the shading... and added some details to the hand, but I have problems with the bg, the colors to use...so please, can someone teach me how to color properly??
04-03-2011, 04:49 AM
Stylish. I think contrast colours in the background would make the pic pop though.
04-10-2011, 06:23 AM
**Lady_Knife: ^^ ok, I will come with the refined version later
...lately I can hardly draw something, I just sketch some stuff at school and this morning I did a 15 min drawing...
on this one I need some real criticism, I want to know the mistakes and the good parts ^_^
sorry I can't finish any drawing, but I loose interest after 2-5 hours of work on it...
04-11-2011, 02:38 PM
hmmm... maybe this will raise you interest XD
this is supposely for a contest...but I don't think I will finish it in time and there are a lot of things I want to do on it T_T
and yeah it was done with refference but something really strange happened with my paint tool sai, it just didn't want to let me draw, everytime I wanted to do a stroke, it just reversed automaticly T_T....
this took me about 5 hours to make in total...
04-11-2011, 03:28 PM
the last one is my favorite, what medium do you use?
04-11-2011, 05:28 PM
paint tool sai, it just didn't want to let me draw, everytime I wanted to do a stroke, it just reversed automaticly T_T....
Paintool SAI (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SAI_(software))... Srsly
04-11-2011, 11:14 PM
**The_shaman: what's that a medium?
**Byakuran: ...the error isn't appearing when I start a new drawing, I think it's beacause of the high resolution... I got a poor pc T_T and maybe it's a bug because is the portable SAI XD
04-12-2011, 12:29 AM
**The_shaman: what's that a medium?medium is what the art is made out of pretty much
04-12-2011, 02:34 PM
**Linz: :) thanks
**Evil_Cake: ...I get the idea of what you are saying, but I don't understand The_shamans question...
so here's an update version:
T_T I can't do a proper bg...
04-12-2011, 02:55 PM
I like it although, the ribs look oddly to me. It looks like he has two tiers of ribs rather than a normal ribcage. His forearm also looks abnormally long compared to his upper arm. Aside from that nice job. :)
04-12-2011, 03:14 PM
**nisaren: ...yeah, this whole drawing looks kinda weird to me too, but I tried to stick to the refference (http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_cWcuJM9QIG4/TLHlAlLpXDI/AAAAAAAADlY/Jaf_StFrTEQ/s1600/jesus-on-cross-Wallpapers%2Bimages%2Bart+vc.jpg) and about the arm I think I've done it wrong T_T, anyway I'm glad you like it, I put a lot of effort in this drawing :)
04-13-2011, 02:00 PM
...so I think this will be the final version:
The text there is in my language and it translates like this (I suppose :-?): Passion of Jesus Christ the Redeemer
04-13-2011, 02:30 PM
Also my quote/post stuff was meant at shaman... xD not to you i was just saying you already said what you were using.
Also is that a red eggshell or something?
Looks seriously like the quality of something you'd see on a church wall, except there's no red egg in churches (at least not that I've seen). The back edge of the egg, I THINK could be sharper, but the lighting looks like it'd produce that effect. As far as critiques go, I have none aside from that. If I did, they've been said already. Sorry I can't be of any help.
04-13-2011, 11:59 PM
**Bakuran: ok and yeah, that should look like an egg shell T_T but it was my very first try... thank you :)
**Matt: ...isn't the story that when Jesus was crucified, someone, I think Holy Mary, put some eggs near him and they became red from his blood, this is what I know... and the religion teacher said me to make it red.. and the back of the egg, yeah the airbrushing, glowing covered the sharp edges... thank you for you comment :)
04-14-2011, 12:32 AM
It looks pretty good to me. I'd prefer a bit more blood though cuz well, Jesus was scoured real bad by the roman soldiers and bled all over from his body (not just from his head, hands and feet).
There are two traditional beliefs of the easter (red) egg, both involving Mary Magdalene:-
One tradition, concerning Mary Magdalene says that following the death and resurrection of Jesus, she used her position to gain an invitation to a banquet given by Emperor Tiberius. When she met him, she held a plain egg in her hand and exclaimed "Christ is risen!" Caesar laughed, and said that Christ rising from the dead was as likely as the egg in her hand turning red while she held it. Before he finished speaking, the egg in her hand turned a bright red, and she continued proclaiming the Gospel to the entire imperial house.
Another version of this story can be found in popular belief, mostly in Greece. It is believed that after the Crucifixion, Mary Magdalene and the Virgin Mary put a basket full of eggs at the foot of the cross. There, the eggs were painted red by the blood of the Christ. Then, Mary Magdalene brought them to Tiberius Caesar (see above).
Another story of the easter egg being, a long time ago gifts were given to children on easter morning (very much like christmas) but one easter, the parents forgot/couldn't afford the presents, so they painted some eggs, hid them in the garden (children were normally let out to play in the garden after mass or service) for the children to find on easter morn.
Hmmm, I got to ask the parish priest one day of this. XD
Sorry for the rambling. Overall good work. I think it's great esp in this time of Lent.
04-14-2011, 03:33 AM
Before you finished the image, it was looking very surrealistic...like a Dali painting. It still turned out very well! I don't have much critiquing to do this time, just wanted to comment.
IS THIS WHY WE HIDE THE EGGS?!?!?!?!?!?????????????
I like it. Couple things tho.
The peg in his foot is to flat towards us and should be angled out so we see a little less of the blunt head and bit more of the side of the peg.
He allso needs some lowlights (darker ones.) around the rib area and where his legs cross and meet.

......i cant do anything without line-art.............:cat_noes::cat_noes:
04-21-2011, 03:05 AM
I've always heard that the name Easter comes from the German goddess Iosta, where people would give offerings of eggs and rabbits in her name. Somehow Jesus got mapped onto all of this and yeah... XD Not sure how credible all that is, though, haha.
Anyway, wow. This is really good. I like the lighting effects and the addition of the egg. All in all, it's a very strong piece.
