new MT, HELLO HELLO
I sometimes doodle in class instead of taking notes.
and then I get home and play with watercolours instead of homework.
Critiques, Comments and tips ;a; much appreciated.
Hey teacup! I really love the coloring - they're so soft looking and it reminds me of Honey & Clover:
Keep it up! I'd love to see more. C:
02-23-2011, 12:58 PM

02-23-2011, 08:52 PM
ajsdlfks I love this. . _ .

Damn Erika, you've gotten so good it's scary!
02-26-2011, 03:52 AM
Nice coloring. One thing I could say right now is about the hair, try to add a little more white to it. It would look alot more better white highlights ^_^ Hope it's helfull.
02-27-2011, 11:50 PM

03-04-2011, 09:48 PM
I was saying (irrationally out of awe, haha) that you and Audrey Kawasaki draw the most amazing lips in the world. <3
And GUH, I can't draw glasses, either. DX But DUUUDE that reference photo made me lol because of the eyebrows. This drawing is totally awesome.
03-06-2011, 06:47 AM
;a; I don't deserve your aweee ;a;
000: Kawasaki is uber cool O_O wooaahhh.
hey, thanks C:
Hahah, I really like this ^^ Maybe you can blend the colours on the face a bit more, and add some highlights. Your colouring style reminds me of someone, but I don't know who :p Nice job anyways ^^
03-09-2011, 02:25 AM
I must steal your idea and go to random websites and draw people from it. XD (Go figure, though, mine'll probably be from Tumblr, haha. *addicteddddd*)
I love your soft style please teach me your ways ohmyahhhh.
I really like the soft coloring. You should keep up the style. :thumbs up:
Don't know if it'll be any help but How to Draw Glasses (http://www.mangatutorials.com/index.php?do=/news/how-to-draw-glasses/).
03-15-2011, 06:48 AM
Mr. D: oh ;a;a;a; you're totally right, I'll make sure to blend the face next time OTL OTL, THANKS!
Seefster: DO IT. and lololol, tumblr IS pretty addicting ;a; thankssssss ssss ssss
Rio: aww thanks c: , 0: that does help!
<: I pray for you~
What does she plan to do with those scissors? She looks like a matriarch. If she was tanner she could be a native american woman <3. Her dress seems oddly short tho @@. <3
Edit: Woah you ninjad me! I love the last one. the eye has a real wet look to it (that is frustraitingly hard to do imo) and this pic has an aww inspiring quality.
04-03-2011, 08:30 PM
aww thanks C: disturbing default btw ;DD
FOR Tzvety! c: I'm sorry I'm so so so late ); !
04-03-2011, 08:56 PM
dude/dudette, you are a BEAST!!^that one is awesome. how do you get your coloring to be like that?! i mean, i look at it and im like: "the colors...... THEIR PERFECT!!!" O_O (<--- awe and mindf*ck! lulz)
04-03-2011, 09:19 PM
Is that a painting? I can see canvas or burlap. And it also looks like either watercolor or acrylics.
Either way, I really like this new one. It's simple, but it has that easy-going composition about it.
Not to mention a really Asian feel lol.
04-10-2011, 12:48 AM
Sanny: , omg ego boost, Ily <3 <3 <3, o: I use watercolours...and water soluble ink for that one o: o: I think it's more materials rather than technique haha XD thank you ;a;
Gunzzzeeetttt: aw maan c: thanks , it's 140 gsm paper ;a; so basically just regular paper ahaha , just a little thicker o: thanks bro
and lmao at the asian feel , I got that too D:
I can't draw bodies, so I draw mermaid tails , yaaaay!
I love pencils c:
heeey if anyone has any tips on anatomy, or coloured pencil tips , pleaseee share! c:
04-10-2011, 01:11 AM
I like the hair on the mermaid.
04-10-2011, 10:41 AM
I love your way of drawing the eyes
The last one is really good, maybe the shoulders shouldn't be as wide as you did and the forehead is kinda big, for a child...though mine is bigger :))
04-10-2011, 10:47 AM
I just love how you do faces! But i thin Nerd here has a good point.....hehee nerd....anyways good work!!!:cat_hmp:<---- Im gonna put this dude each time im pretending to be smart.
04-17-2011, 12:09 AM
Hey guys, thankss,. o: ooo good point about the shoulders, I'll keep it in mind next time! :}
04-18-2011, 05:38 AM
whooooo double post! c:
one layer doodle,
Of Tank Girl <3
04-19-2011, 01:36 PM
This one seems to have a bit more concentration on anatomy. And so I'm gonna pick at that real quick. Well...actually, I can't draw women worth a shit. But the back of the head seems a bit off, like it's bulging out. You could fix that by simply bringing it in closer to the head.
The rest is fine from my view, details are awesome. And the blue hue of everything works well, although I think it could also fit with a nice reddish-brown.
And the one before that is awesome. It does look like it could go in a magazine haha.
04-26-2011, 09:28 AM
Lol I used posemaniacs ;a; I couldn't get the boobs right bro, I just couldn't.
I think you're right man, D: It does look like it's bulging out~ will make sure not to do that again next time >A< THANKS! maaan ((:
Oh God, Bya, I'm sorry ;a; I couldn't help myself.
I should probably...get to school too <A< and uh finish my essay!
04-26-2011, 02:23 PM
No need to be sorry hun.

Jeez! I wish I could do watercolors :a: . It takes a lot of skill, one mess up and you're pretty much screwed! You really should do a tutorial though. What did you paint this on? it looks sorta like you cut the picture out of something.
06-13-2011, 02:03 PM

whooooo double posting for the coolcats! OTL
for some kid in my Chinese class.
10-09-2011, 04:13 AM
The cranium appears to be very lopsided on the viewer's left. Filling it out with a bit more hair would have fixed it. The shoulder seems to lack jointed structure and is instead sliiightly noodley. I can see where you made a tick mark in the back to indicate a shoulder blade, but that should be pushed back further. I think that's were things started to get a little muddled. But other than that, I really like the hair and the feather detail. You draw eyes like a total beast and those lips. LIIIIPS. WHY can I not draw them? You are a true master, E.
10-10-2011, 03:22 AM
I love the hair! its wild!
11-22-2011, 02:45 AM
I love you Seef.
I'm trying new things.
11-22-2011, 03:02 AM
Man what, I didn't even expect the blinking part lol. Love it, only thing I have to say is that it seems the eyes aren't aligned with the jaw, or vice versa. Either that or the eyes just seem really big due in part because the hair is covering up the right side of her face.
Hey, you should try and do one of these with more frames in between, that'd be awesome+ :]
11-23-2011, 12:25 AM
Shes sexy, nuf said
12-04-2011, 04:58 PM
Tried onion skinning x) about 15-30 frames lol.
Gunz: naww man you're right, D: her facial features are not aligned with her jaw at all. You know what's awesome? You.
Ily Zoe. <3
12-04-2011, 06:41 PM
Ah the epic face blinks!!! OAO awesp,e <----- Look!!! The face is so pretty i couldn't write "Awesome"!!!
01-29-2012, 09:10 PM
uhm. I uh. did something.
01-29-2012, 09:24 PM
cool what did u do it with
01-29-2012, 09:40 PM
gouache and raw man power. y'know.
01-29-2012, 10:38 PM
Im getting some Johnny depp willy wonka vibes from this.
05-24-2012, 08:24 AM
Oh thanks mannnn
hungry scanner is hungry for colours.
Hence the lack of said colours.
05-24-2012, 06:47 PM
Gah, you always manage to get things looking so incredibly soft. Like, from the lineart (hair in perticular) right down to the colour pallate.
I need a way to high-five you that doesn't involve mailing severed limbs across the atlantic... *_*
05-24-2012, 06:48 PM
have u tried using saturation and contrast curves in Photoshoop?
05-29-2012, 07:32 PM
Reg: Man, you don't know how ...happy I am when you comment on stuff lol. I really enjoy *AND MISS your art man. And thanks ! It'd be cool to receive a hand in the mail I guess. Kind of. Maybe.
Sylux: what is "Photoshoop" ?
I accidentally elbowed a bottle of ink onto paper.
This is what happened when it dried.
05-29-2012, 07:37 PM
Wow, what a talented bottle of ink!!!
05-29-2012, 09:29 PM
Photoshop with two o's because it sounds cooler. Actually it would sound even cooler with more o's. Phootooshoop.
05-30-2012, 12:11 AM
Potatoshop is by far the best.
Also, that is pretty rad. Hypercontrast stuff, I think they call it.
Was it actually with a fountain pen then? or just a sharpie?... or even watercolors?...
05-31-2012, 03:44 AM
that watercolour is SO LOVELY! OMG!!! im in love..with erika..i mean with erika's art <33
06-13-2012, 06:54 AM
Jorgie: Haahha yes, indeed.
Sylux: IDK what that is. Uhm.
Reg : Man lol, I don't use PS at all :'c. I use flash? Does that count? Am I cool yet?
Also thanks man! 0: it's painted with ink!
Zoe darling: YOU ARE SO LOVELY. omgoodnessss thank youuuu <3
I wanted to try hot pressed paper.....
It is not for me ;_;
Not. At. All.
I think the Queen is the Fairest one of all tbhhh.

Wonderful paintings! Both of them!
07-24-2012, 12:40 PM
2011 / 2012 Opium Sally
07-25-2012, 06:20 PM
Opium sally......watching the world trough lemon shades......Thats gotta burn.
I like the new one, it's very psychedelic. The hair is particularly nice, the detail in the strands gives it a real sense of movement.
01-23-2013, 11:22 PM
I haven't drawn much lately ):
01-30-2013, 10:26 PM
I like what you have so far. I know this is a wip, but you may want to make your colors a little less muted? I always hesitate to give critiques on images completely done on the computer: I can't do it, so I don't understand the process and thus can't give very good advice :( Sorry I'm not much help!
01-31-2013, 09:08 AM
ur art is amazinnngggggggg
02-09-2013, 03:39 AM
The face is looking great :). Definitely needs more contrast but I'm sure it will be beautiful when finished. Is this for a larger painting?
06-13-2013, 03:39 PM
Blue_Dragon: :P Thanks! I was actually just doodling around, but I'll keep the colours in mind next time thank you!
Cloudy: you're amazing <3
Chii: Thanks o: Yeah :( Contrast and colours is a little difficult for me. I was just playing around, trying to find a painting style for myself in terms of digital!
One of the last pieces I did for art class :) I didn't really do much outside of class though :'(
06-13-2013, 04:43 PM
NO critiques here! But this is really, really awesome! I love the ever so faint quote on Wendy's dress! I guess the one qualm I have is that the octopus is from Peter Pan 2, while Wendy is just from Peter Pan.
02-01-2014, 12:11 AM
someone on redditgetsdrawn
someone's kid on redditgetdrawn
one of my closest friends idk
this was also supposed to be a portrait of a close friend but I can't quite get it look like her :/
I haven't slept in like 36 hours, I felt like drawing. It's been a while since I've done anything outside of class :)
02-01-2014, 01:07 PM
I love you. You and your drawings. Damn.
In which program have you been drawing?
02-04-2014, 02:11 AM
Numz! I still use SAI, I still can't really get behind the PS platform. :)) And Sai works for me
:( I still need a lot of work on digital stuff, and proportions, and getting things to look as they should, and colour theory..
and everything ;_; teach me how to draw plz.
02-09-2014, 09:32 PM
Man, you look like you got a lot of flare in your techniques. You got a lot going for how you make things, and I would suggest that you stick to SAI as your main if you do learn photoshop, based on your style you'd get a lot more mileage out of it either way(Software gripes).
There's a lot to learn about colour theory, hitting the books will get you somewhere with it, post any specific questions you'd have, it can get really subjective. Take a look into values, too.
In photoshop, look into "How to create brushes", "Brush settings", and "Layer blending mode". Experiment with all three of these, that experience can open up a lot. I can only imagine the potential you have once you get those under your belt. This gon be like watching goku going from SSJ2 to 3.
